Hunger Action Month
Hunger Action Month is a nationwide effort each September to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire people to take action to fight hunger in their communities. It’s a time to learn, give, volunteer, and speak up—because together, we can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.
Everyone Has a Role in Fighting Hunger
Bring a bag of needed, nonperishable items to the Pantry or organize a food drive with your church, school, workplace, neighborhood, or community group.
Volunteer at the Chapel Pantry and help make a welcoming, dignified shopping experience possible for our guests. Bring a friend and serve together!
A financial gift helps us purchase the food our guests need most and keeps the Pantry running week after week. Every gift makes an impact.
Share the Pantry's story. Wear orange. Wear your Pantry shirt out in the community. Invite someone to volunteer. Follow and share our social media.
Take Action This Hunger Action Month! 🧡
September is Hunger Action Month, and we’re inviting our Pantry volunteers to help us spread the word and show our community that everyone has a role to play in fighting hunger! Wear orange, sport your Chapel Pantry shirt when you’re out and about, invite a friend to volunteer, organize a food drive, or simply share the Pantry’s story with others. We’ve also created a handy card with 30 ways to get involved in the fight against food insecurity—take a look and choose a few ways to make a difference this month! Every conversation, donation, volunteer hour, and bag of food makes a difference. Let’s show our community just how much we can accomplish when we take action together!
